What is ID6 menu?
From the main menu, click into the Communications tab, and Manage Mobile Devices. Then, a prompt appears to select a new device, and select the phone screen mirroring option. You’ll receive a prompt that will instruct them how to connect to the iDrive display console, and once completed, the phone screen mirroring is complete. Can this be installed on my car?
Enhanced Bluetooth is supported on F, G and I series BMW, MINI Cooper, Toyota Supra.
Check your version. On your idrive, go to:
Navigation > Settings > Positions and software (check picture on the left)
Your version should be something like NBTevo_X******. Versions go by alphabet, the later the version the later the letter in the alphabet.
Versions that need USB method installation – NBTevo_D .. O
Versions that need ENET method installation – NBTevo_P .. Z
If you have “Road Map Way” maps, you will need a remote coding session.
What is needed for this retrofit?
USB method. If you have NBTevo headunit (versions D .. O) you can install Screen-mirroring using USB stick. Installation is manual, you will get full instructions how to do it yourself.
ENET method. If you have NBTevo headunit (versions P .. Z) you will need to have an ENET cable and a Windows laptop with ethernet port to install it. Installation is manual, you will get full instructions how to do it yourself.
Remote coding session. We will code your car remotely. For the coding session, you need to have an ENET cable and a Windows laptop with an ethernet port and internet connection.
